Onsite Support Engineer

Introduction: Exa Corporation seeks a fluid dynamicist to fill an onsite support position We are particularly interested in the areas of aerodynamics. Other areas include aeroacoustics and heat transfer. The Onsite Support position is a key link between the customers and Exa's field and development team. Exa is a customer driven company that requires dedicated entrepreneurial individuals with the talent and flexibility to accomplish its aggressive goals.

Responsibilities:

As an Onsite Support Engineer, you are a member of the field team. You will report directly to a regional Sales Manager or regional AE Manager depending on location. You must be customer-focused, very responsive, able to develop a strong level of trust with customers and know how to add value in a customer support situation. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential. The ability to work on and manage multiple projects for the customer quickly and efficiently, leveraging internal resources at Exa, is very important. Further to delivering the customer support you will interact with the technical team in other Exa offices as part of the global AE team.

Requirements:

  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment, strong desire to learn
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, good presentation skills. Fluency in German required
  • Strong organizational skills. Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Experience in the automotive engineering process
  • Familiarity with CAD, CAE applications, and geometry processing
  • Experience with common CAD or Geometry Tools is a plus
  • 1-2 years experience using CAE Tools and/or conducting experimental studies
  • UNIX Skills, Script programming and experience with ANSA is required
  • Diploma, BS or MS. in ME, CFD, Aerodynamics, Physics or equivalent.
  • Solid knowledge of fluid dynamic fundamentals.
  • Comfortable with permanent direct customer interaction and working to support a team
