Sales Executive – Heavy Vehicles North America

 Role & Responsibilities:

Exa Corporation is seeking an experienced Sales Executive to fill key leadership position on Exa’s sales team.  Exa is a customer driven company that requires dedicated entrepreneurial individuals with the talent and flexibility to accomplish its aggressive goals.  Reporting directly to the Director of Sales for Heavy Vehicles in North America, you will have a performance based compensation package which includes a base salary and commissions based on quota.

As a Sales Executive you will: 

  • Be responsible for developing and executing, vertical market strategies, account plans, Consulting Services project plans, as well as leading Exa’s field technical team(s) to achieve account objectives to support territory growth and revenue goals.
  • Build business and generate increasing revenues within a North American Vertical Market or with a select group of major OEM Accounts.
  • Lead clients and engineering teams through a complex sales cycle to close business.
  • Interact with and support the sales and technical teams in other Exa offices as part of the global sales organization.
  • Lead a team of Application Engineers and Technical Account Managers to deliver value to the selected OEM’s by selling a combination of software and consulting services utilizing a consultative selling process where Exa works closely with the customer and their Engineering team to use our suite of software products to add value and meet customer goals.

Requirements: 

We are particularly interested in candidates with a technical background that have experience selling CAE/EDA Software or highly engineered subsystems to large OEM accounts to build revenue in the Automotive and Ground Transportation Industry.

In addition we require:

  • BS in Engineering, Technical Discipline or equivalent expertise.
  • 5+ years experience in Sales or Account Management to Automotive and Ground Transportation OEM’s and/or Tier One Suppliers.
  • 5+ years experience leading and/or managing sales and application engineering teams to meet territory sales objectives and goals.
  • 2+ years experience in a product engineering or technical consulting environment
  • Customer-focus, responsive, able to develop strong relationships at all levels with customers from Engineering to VP Level.
  • Experience developing and executing strategic territory sales and account plans to build revenue in a defined region or vertical market.
  • Proven ability to close business through a complex sales process, and a strong track record of increasing revenues with-in selected accounts.
  • Proven track record meeting or exceeding revenue targets or objectives, achieving quota, achieving presidents club, etc., and experience penetrating and developing revenue streams from new markets.
  • Excellent negotiation, project management and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to thrive in fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent Time Management and Leadership Skills.
  • Strong desire for continuous learning.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks/multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to Travel up to 50% (US/Domestic).

Additional Skills & Experiences:

  • Advanced Degree in Engineering or Business is a plus.
  • Experience with CAE/EDA tools and/or delivering consulting services to the Automotive, Racing, Heavy Vehicle and other OEM’s is a plus.
  • Experience with common CAD/CAE/EDA tools is a plus.
