Steven Orszag is the Percey F. Smith Professor of Mathematics at Yale University. Previously, he was Professor of Applied Mathematics at MIT from 1967-84 and the Forrest Hamrick Professor of Engineering at Princeton University from 1984-98. He has written over 400 archival papers and a dozen books in scientific computing, fluid dynamics, turbulence, numerical analysis, computer storage, nanoscale manufacturing, materials processing, and other fields.  Among his awards are the AIAA Fluid and Plasmadynamics Award, the American Physical Society’s Otto Laporte Award, and the SEAS G. I. Taylor Prize.  Professor Orszag is also a founder of several private and public companies.  He has 10 patents, issued and pending.
